Privacy at a glance
- StreamToVR does not require an account with us.
- The App does not send personal information, usage analytics, advertising identifiers, crash reports, or usage data to Feel Digital.
- The App contains no advertising, cross-app tracking, analytics services, or cookies.
- Your live video, audio, and stream metadata are sent directly from your iPhone to the one destination you configure. Nothing passes through servers operated by Feel Digital.
- Destination profiles and settings remain in the App's local storage. Stream keys, SRT passphrases, and captions URLs are stored in the system Keychain.
- The optional local VR server keeps video, captions, and voice on your local network.
Information StreamToVR handles
Camera and microphone data
StreamToVR uses both back cameras (ultra-wide and wide) at the same time, together with the microphone, to preview, process, encode, and transmit the live stream you start. The two camera images are aligned into a stereo pair on the device's GPU and encoded in the format you select: flat stereo (side by side or top-bottom), VR180, or 360 stereo, using HEVC, H.264, or MV-HEVC.
Stereo and projection metadata, such as the stereo layout and projection type, is embedded in the outgoing stream and is received by the destination you selected. Feel Digital does not receive or retain this content.
Streaming destinations and credentials
The App streams to one destination at a time: YouTube (RTMPS), a custom RTMP or RTMPS server, a custom SRT server, or the App's own local VR server. To establish a connection, the App handles the destination name, server address, stream key or stream identifier, and, if you use encrypted SRT, its passphrase.
- Destination names, server addresses, selected quality settings, and App preferences are stored locally in the App's settings storage.
- Stream keys, SRT passphrases, and captions URLs are stored separately in the system Keychain.
- Credentials are used only to build and authenticate the connection you request. StreamToVR does not send them to Feel Digital.
The destination necessarily receives the stream, connection credentials, your network address, and technical connection information required to operate the stream. Its handling of that information is governed by its own privacy policy. StreamToVR is not an agent of, and does not control, any destination you configure.
Captions (optional)
If you turn on captions, speech recognition runs on the device using Apple's Speech framework. Apple may download on-device language models for the language you choose. Recognized caption text can be used in the following ways, depending on your settings:
- sent to YouTube by an HTTP POST request to the captions ingestion URL that you paste from YouTube Studio;
- burned into the video image, so that it is visible to everyone who watches the stream; and
- shown to viewers of the local VR server.
Caption text is never sent to Feel Digital.
Local VR server (optional, paid feature)
The local VR server is an optional feature unlocked by a one-time in-app purchase. When you start it, the App runs a web server on your local network (Wi-Fi or Personal Hotspot; the default port is 8080) that serves a WebXR player to headsets, such as Meta Quest, on the same network. Video, captions, and the optional two-way voice link between the headset microphone and the iPhone travel over that local network and stay there. They are not routed through Feel Digital or any internet service operated by us. Anyone who can reach the server on your network may be able to open the player, so use a network you trust.
Performance information and diagnostics
During a stream, StreamToVR calculates operational information such as connection state, bitrate, frame rate, dropped frames, and stream duration. This information is used on the device to display status and manage stream quality. It is not automatically sent to Feel Digital.
The App keeps diagnostic session logs in its Documents folder. They never contain full secrets: stream keys, passphrases, and captions URLs appear only as their last 4 characters. A log leaves the device only if you choose to share it through the system share sheet. Once shared, the recipient handles it under its own privacy terms.
Calibration files
The App uses the factory stereo calibration provided by Apple for your iPhone. You may optionally place your own calibration file in the App's Documents folder. Such files stay on your device.
Messages sent to support
StreamToVR does not collect contact details inside the App. If you email us, we will receive the address, message, attachments, and other information you choose to provide. We use it to respond, troubleshoot, protect the App, and meet legal obligations. We retain support correspondence only for as long as reasonably needed for those purposes.
Permissions
StreamToVR may request the following device permissions:
- Camera: to capture video from the two back cameras for your stream.
- Microphone: to capture audio for your stream, for speech recognition when captions are on, and for the optional two-way voice link.
- Speech recognition: to create captions on the device when you turn them on.
- Local network: to run the local VR server and let headsets on your network connect to it, and to reach a destination on your local network.
You can change these permissions in iOS Settings at any time. Disabling a required permission may prevent the related feature from working. StreamToVR does not request access to your contacts, location, or photo library.
Analytics, advertising, and cookies
StreamToVR does not use analytics or advertising services, does not collect advertising identifiers, does not create an advertising profile, and does not track you across apps or websites. Because it is a native application, it does not place or read browser cookies. The WebXR player served by the local VR server does not use cookies or third-party scripts.
The operating system, network provider, device backup service, or streaming destination may process information independently of StreamToVR. Their practices are controlled by their own terms and settings.
Purchases
The local VR server is unlocked by a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit). Apple handles payment and purchase records under its own terms and privacy policy. Feel Digital does not receive your payment details.
Storage, retention, and deletion
App preferences and non-secret destination settings stay in local App storage until you change them or remove the App's data. Credentials stay in the system Keychain until you remove the related destination from StreamToVR or otherwise clear them through the operating system. Because Keychain behavior can differ from ordinary App storage, remove saved destinations before uninstalling the App if you want to ensure their credentials are deleted.
Diagnostic logs and optional calibration files remain in the App's Documents folder until you delete them or remove the App. Device backup or synchronization features may copy locally stored information according to the settings of your device and account; StreamToVR does not control those features.
Security
We designed StreamToVR to minimize data exposure by keeping settings on the device, placing secrets in the system Keychain, redacting secrets in logs, and avoiding developer-operated relay and analytics services. However, no device, network, or storage method is completely secure.
You are responsible for protecting your device and credentials and for choosing a trustworthy destination. The confidentiality of a stream in transit depends on the protocol and server you configure. Use an encrypted connection (RTMPS or SRT with a passphrase) whenever your destination supports one.
Third-party destinations and services
You may need a separate account with the destination that receives your stream. Account registration, moderation, viewer access, age requirements, storage, distribution, and deletion at that destination are outside StreamToVR's control. Review the destination's privacy policy before going live and contact it directly regarding data it holds.
If you stream to YouTube, your use of it is governed by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. The same applies to any custom RTMP, RTMPS, or SRT server operator.
Your choices and privacy rights
You can control information handled locally by StreamToVR by:
- changing or revoking device permissions;
- editing or deleting saved destinations and credentials;
- turning captions and the local VR server on or off;
- deleting session logs and calibration files; and
- deciding whether and where to share a diagnostic log.
Depending on where you live, privacy law may also give you rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or an objection to processing of personal information held by an organization. Feel Digital cannot retrieve or delete live streams, account details, or other information held by a destination because we do not receive or control it. Direct those requests to the relevant destination. For information you sent directly to Feel Digital, such as a support email, contact us using the address below.
We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Children
StreamToVR is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App. A parent or guardian should supervise a minor's use of live-streaming tools and confirm that the chosen destination permits the minor to use its service. Age verification and audience controls at a destination are that destination's responsibility.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when StreamToVR's features, data practices, or legal obligations change. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, when required, provide an additional notice. The version in effect when you use the App applies to that use.
