Overview
AquaDegrees helps users view sea water temperatures, short-term forecasts, marine conditions, saved coastal places, widgets, and optional Wear OS sync.
We do not provide user accounts inside the app and we do not ask for your precise device location permission.
Data we access, collect, or process
Depending on how you use AquaDegrees, the app may access, collect, process, or display the following categories of data:
- Search queries and saved places, including place names, coordinates, selected temperature unit, onboarding state, widget data, and ad-removal state stored locally on your device.
- App, device, and network information used by the app and third-party SDKs, including identifiers, IP address, app interactions, diagnostics, and approximate location inferred by service providers.
- Purchase status related to the one-time ad-removal product processed through Google Play Billing.
- Widget and Wear OS sync data for saved places, displayed temperatures, and related app component data across supported devices.
How we use data
- Return place search results.
- Fetch and display marine forecasts and sea temperatures.
- Save selected places and preferences on-device.
- Display widgets and optional Wear OS companion data.
- Show ads in the free version.
- Process and restore the optional ad-removal purchase.
- Maintain app security, performance, and reliability.
Sharing of data
We do not sell personal data.
We may share or transmit data to service providers used by the app to make features work, including Open-Meteo services, Google AdMob, Google Maps Platform, Google Play Billing, and Google Play Services / Wear OS services. These providers may process data under their own privacy policies.
Data retention and deletion
Most app data managed by AquaDegrees is stored locally on your device.
Local app data remains on your device until you remove saved places, clear app storage, or uninstall the app.
We do not maintain a user account database for AquaDegrees and we do not operate a backend that stores your saved places for later retrieval by us.
Data processed by third-party providers may be retained according to their own policies and legal obligations.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect data handled by the app. Network requests used by the app are intended to be transmitted over HTTPS where supported by the service provider.
No mobile app or internet transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
AquaDegrees is not directed to children under 13 and is not designed as a child-directed service.
Your choices
- Stop using search, widgets, or Wear OS features.
- Remove saved places inside the app.
- Clear app storage from your device settings.
- Uninstall the app.
- Purchase the ad-removal product to disable ads in the app.
